Christine Henderson (Learning and Development Manager) at Cardiff and London based law firm, Capital Law, offers this advice to employers dealing with absences: "If someone in your team is absent due to sickness on Monday though, sit down with them on their first day back and hold a return to work interview. "You’re welcoming them back to work, finding out how they feel, confirming the reason for the absence and discovering whether there’s anything in work that’s contributed to the absence (part of the employer’s duty of care)."
