Esyllt Green, an associate in the employment team at Cardiff based law firm, Capital Law, added: "There is of course no anti-tattoo discrimination in the UK, but negative attitudes by employers towards those employees who have a personal preference towards decorating their bodies, could lead to low morale within the workforce - or even point toward the existence of wider intolerance and prejudice towards diversity. "Employers, however, should be careful that in imposing a dress code that requires tattoos to be covered up, unless they have sound business reasons for doing so."
